Reading Moses, Seeing Jesus
Author: Eitan Bar, Erez Soref, Seth Postell

Many believers are confused about their relationship to the laws in the Pentateuch. And believers aren’t always consistent in their application of these laws. Some people insist believers must keep the Sabbath because it’s part of the Ten Commandments, but then go on to argue that the other biblical feasts are no longer obligatory. Some believers argue that believers don’t need to keep the dietary laws in Leviticus 11, but then refer to Leviticus 19:28 as a proof text against getting a tattoo. Paul seems to argue in Ephesians 2:14-15 that the laws separating Gentiles from Jews are abolished, but then urges children to obey the parents on the basis of the Ten Commandments in Ephesians 6:1-2. Jesus says he didn’t come to abolish the law in Matthew 5:17-19, and the writer of Hebrews tells us that the change of priesthood requires a change of the law (Hebrews 7:11-12). This book was written for the purpose of trying to clear up this confusion, and to help people see how a careful reading of Moses leads God’s people to Jesus.
